THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF TURKMENISTAN NAMED AFTER SAPARMURAT TURKMENBASHY

"The National Museum of Turkmenistan named after Saparmurat Turkmenbashy was founded on the 5-st of January, 1998. Its collection consists of 500 thousands of articles of the basic and auxiliary stocks. There are exhibits and documents, describing political history achievements of independent neutral state, that has been founded on 27-th of October, 1991 headed be commonly recognized national leader of Turkmen people, Saparmurat Niyazov, which awarded by the parliament of the country with the official name of Turkmenbashy (head of Turkmens). The Museum has considerable collection ancient Turkmen carpets and different carpet articles, bright examples of national clothes and fabrics, traditional domestic inventory, articles made from rare metals, arms, awards, medals, great number of priceless archaeological materials, as well as different historical documents. Besides exhibitions of the museum reflects diverse nature of Turkmen land: its flora and fauna, natural resources and rare geological finds."
