Valuation and administration of lands containing antiquities in Cyprus

"Cyprus has been influenced by many people and races. Still scattered around are the remnants of previous civilizations with the most historical landmarks having been left by the Phoenicians, theGreeks, the Romans and the Byzantine. From these civilizations many ancient monuments have been discovered and brought to the surface. A major problem for Cyprus is the protection of these antiquities. Laws have been passed to accomplish this but one result of these laws is the need to compensate the owners of lands on which antiquities have been found. This research assesses the legal, economic, and land information issues related to the protection of antiquities in Cyprus..."
