Final Proposal to Encode the Cuneiform Script in the SMP of the UCS

"...as a participant in the subcommittee of the Unicode Technical Committee (June 16th 2004), as well as of Working Group 2 (June 23rd 2004 at 10:35 a.m.), the international body responsible for approving the ratification of new scripts on the world scene, that our revised proposal to encode the cuneiform script was accepted by the UTC, and approved for ballotting by WG2...This proposal covers cuneiform from the Ur III period forwards. We hope to begin working on the next phase (earlier period script) soon..."
