Neo-Babylonian Texts in the Oriental Institute Collection

The 173 Neo-Babylonian texts contained in this volume were acquired by the Oriental Institute Tablet Collection over a long period of years from various sources. Most of the texts in the collection are from the Eanna temple archive in Uruk. Some are from Nippur, Babylon, and Larsa. The texts date from the beginning of the seventh to the last quarter of the fourth century b.c. The genres of the texts include legal, administrative, and epistolary material, plus fragments of a commentary, a lexical tablet, and a religious text or commentary. Transliterations, translations, and comments are provided for all the texts. Hand copies or photographs of casts are provided for each tablet. Drawings and descriptions are given for the seal impressions. Full indices, including a key word index, are supplied.
