Guidelines for Contributors to Publications of the German Archaeological Institute

"In view of its ever closer contacts with archaeological research worldwide and the increasing networks between archaeological projects and neighbouring disciplines, the DAI has decided to revise its citation guidelines. With immediate effect, authors now can choose between two methods of citation: the first is based on the system so far current for publications of the DAI, the second is modelled on the conventions prevailing in the English-speaking world. At the same time the practice of publication is being simplified. Authors are thus provided with a standardized means of submitting papers for publication. The guidelines published here become effective as of January 2006, from which point they apply for the drafting of manuscripts. All previously published guidelines, in particular those published in Archäologischer Anzeiger 1997, 611–628, are no longer valid."
